Volunteer

Volunteering is an important way of gaining professional experience and making your self more marketable.

The Children's Museum offers a variety of different ways to volunteer.

How to become a volunteer:

Once you decide to volunteer with the museum you must fill out a volunteer application. After you complete your application, please allow the museum at least one week to process it. A representative from The Children's Museum will then call you to discuss the specifics of your volunteer position.

The Group Volunteers

The Children's Museum has several major fundraisers throughout the year including: Fall Fest, Santa's Elves Workshop, Daddy Daughter Dance, Mom & Son Events, summer camps, spring break camp, and various monthly programs. These events require many volunteers, which makes this a great opportunity for large groups to work together.

Program Volunteers

Every week there are children's programs going on at the Museum. Program Volunteers can either help the museum staff with the programs or come up with their own activity and present it to the children. This is a great opportunity to be the teacher and the program planner.

Individual Volunteers

The individual volunteer can be any one, from a one-time volunteer to having a set times during the week to volunteer. This is great for anyone who has a busy schedule. These volunteers help out with the daily story times, arts and crafts, preparation for events and programs as well as giving a helping hand to daily operations.

Community Events

World Fest
CMBV partners with the TAMU Office of International Outreach to celebrate the history and heritage of the Brazos Valley. Volunteers will be needed in the Kid’s Village.

Planet Earth Celebration
The Planet Earth Celebration is a community wide public education event held annually on the Saturday of Earth Day in April. Volunteers are needed to man booths at the Kid’s Tent.

Texas Reds Festival
The museum hosts a Kid’s Zone for this festival. Volunteers are needed in all areas.
